Funny Little Thing Called Love will be performed by the WHS Theatre students and directed by Rita Johnson , November 11, 12, and 13th. The show begins @ 7:00 PM each evening in the WHS Fine Arts Center. Ticket prices are $3.00 for Students, $5.00 for Adults and can be purchased at the door the evening of the performances. Social distancing will be followed by the audience and masks will be worn by the crew backstage. The cast will not be masked for the performances.
The story line is about the 4 letter word :L-O-V-E and takes place under a full moon on the same evening in various locations around the world; From Florida to Dallas, to Hawaii to a roof top in London, cupid’s love arrow just can’t be ignored. This deliriously funny comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten is a show you don’t want to miss.


WMS PTO/Warrior Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 19th from 6-7 pm at the WMS library.

WMS Fall Pictures are being taken tomorrow, Tuesday, October 19th.

There will be No School on Friday, October 15, 2021 for Teacher Professional Development Make-up. School will resume on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, October 14th from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Please contact your teacher via email to schedule your students' conference. The teacher email addresses can be found at westsideschools.org under the staff pages.

WMS Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 14th. We will be hosting these primarily through phone, email, or Zoom. Parents can schedule a face to face conference with their child's teacher. From October 4-8, teachers will contact parents regarding scheduling conferences.

The open gym time scheduled for 5th grade boys on Thursday evening has been cancelled.

5th and 6th grade pee wee girls basketball will have an open gym session Saturday, September 18th from 10 am to 12 pm at the Westside Elementary School gym.

There will be an open gym time for some boys pee wee basketball this week. 6th grade boys will be tonight from 6-7:30 pm at the Westside Elementary gym. 5th grade boys will be Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Westside Elementary gym. Information for other pee wee basketball groups will come at a later time.

Westside Schools will be closed Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of Labor Day. School will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Some 5th grade students were playing multiplication checkers today during empower hour. Empower Hour is middle school’s enrichment and intervention block.




Travel volleyball tryouts for 5th and 6th grade will be Thursday, August 26th and Monday, August 30th at the middle school gym from 6:00-7:30 each night.

As part of Westside Middle School's character education and social and emotional learning, Capturing Kids' Hearts, students will learn a character skill each month. This month's skill is empathy. Please look

5th grade students are participating in a book tasting today finding books that they’d like to read!




Tomorrow, Friday, August 20th, is the last day to turn in Volleyball intramural forms. Forms can be picked up at the middle school office. Students have been made aware of this as well during our morning announcements. If you have any questions, please contact Danny Price at dprice@westsideschools.org.

From WMS: Some reminders for the first day of school:
1. Car line will run longer than normal. Please be patient and kind.
2. Make sure you student knows how to get home from school before they leave home in the morning.
3. Parents will not be allowed in the building to walk their student to class.
4. Any medicines that need to be given to the school nurse should be dropped off between 8:00 and 10:00. Contact Nurse Meghan for any questions at mbrodell@westsideschools.org.
5. Everyone inside the building must wear their masks when they are unable to social distance.
6. Be sure to capture those first day of school pictures!
