Warrior Basketball teams will be traveling to Highland tomorrow night, Friday, January 28th, to play the Rebels with a game time start of 5pm with the JrB, Jr and Sr High teams playing.

Due to travel concerns by Highland, the boys basketball game that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed again. This game is now scheduled to be played this Saturday, 1-22-22. 7th grade will start at 12:00pm with the Jr. and Sr. High games to follow.
The girls basketball games at Pocahontas are still taking place tonight. This will be a Jr. and Sr. High games only and will start at 5:00 pm.
After weighing several different options, the Homecoming Court presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 18th at 6:00 pm. There will be no basketball game to follow. Court members should be dressed and ready at school at 5:30 pm.
This decision is being made based on factors including: possible further cancellations and postponements with future scheduled or rescheduled basketball games, the current availability of those on the homecoming court as it relates to quarantine issues, and the already scheduled appointments and arrangements that have been made with this date in mind. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we try to navigate the ever changing COVID-19 climate.
Due to COVID-19 issues with Batesville Southside, the girls basketball games for Mon. 1-17-22 and boys basketball games (homecoming) on 1-18-22 are being postponed. Once new dates are finalized, the information will be made available.
Homecoming activities will be moved to Wed 1-19-22 when the boys play Highland. The Homecoming Court presentation will begin at 5:00 pm before the Jr. High boys game. Those participating in the Homecoming Court should be dressed and ready at the school by 4:30 pm.
Due to COVID-19 issues with Pocahontas Schools, the boys basketball games scheduled for Thurs 1-13-22 and the girls basketball games scheduled for Fri 1-14-22 have been postponed. The boys games have been rescheduled for Wed 1-26-22. Once a date is set for the girls games, it will be announced.
There will be no school for students on Monday, January 17, 2022 for observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Warrior Events for January 10th - 15th
With school being closed to on-site instruction on Friday, January 7th, all homecoming activities will postponed until Tuesday, January 18th when the boys basketball team plays Southside Batesville. The homecoming court presentation will be that night at the game.
Due to hazardous road conditions including black ice and iced county roads, students will not report to school tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2022. This will be counted as AMI day #2. Students should check their google classroom for any work to be done from their teachers.
Due to winter weather conditions, Westside Schools will be closed to on-site learning today. This will be an AMI (alternate method of instruction) day. Students should look at their Google Classrooms for any work to be done from their teachers.
WHS Girls basketball Update: The Kell Classic basketball game scheduled for tonight has been moved to 6:30 p.m. and will be played in the Tuckerman gym.
Due to issues with COVID-19 in the Highland School District, Friday night's Boys Basketball Homecoming game has been cancelled. This game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 19th for Jr and Sr high boys games only. There will be no 7th grade boys game that night.
While the game is being canceled, the Homecoming festivities will go on as planned on Friday, January 7th at 6:30pm. This will take place in the high school gym. Homecoming court members must be dressed and ready at 6:00 pm. There will be no cost for anyone to attend this event. This event may also be livestreamed as well. A link for the livestream will be provided closer to time if it is going to set up for viewing.
The Homecoming dance that was scheduled for Saturday, January 8th had already been postponed. The make up date for the Homecoming dance has been scheduled for Saturday, February 12th. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and do our best to ensure this event can take place safely. As always, if plans change, we will continue to update our community!
With the uptick in COVID-19 numbers in the state and county, both Westside High School and Westside Middle School will be postponing upcoming scheduled dances.
The homecoming dance for WHS that was scheduled for Saturday, January 8th is being postponed until a later date. We are currently looking at possible dates in mid- February. Once a decision is made, students will be notified.
The WMS dance that was scheduled for Friday, January 14th is being rescheduled for Friday, February 25th.
The health and safety of our students is always our number one priority. We look forward to providing these student social activities as soon as we can safely do so.

There will be no school for Westside Consolidated School District on December 20, 2021 through January 3, 2022. Students will return on January 4, 2022.
The middle school safe house will be available tonight if anyone needs shelter.

A huge thank you to all who participated in Christmas the Warrior Way tonight. Thank you to all students, teachers, and staff who gave of your time to bring this event to our community.
