Congratulations to WHS students Nicholas Bratten and Garrett Curtis for making the All-State Mixed Choir as Bass 2’s. They will rehearse next week in Hot Springs with their choir and present a concert next Saturday, Feb. 17, at the All-State Music Convention.

Jr High Quiz Bowl earned a spot at the State Tournament with their 4th place finish at Saturday’s Regional Tournament in Heber Springs. They will Join Trumann, Pocahontas, and Highland in representing Northeast Arkansas on February 17th in Batesville.
Team member Drew Davis was the 3rd highest scorer among all players at the tournament, and was selected to the All- Tournament Team.

Today, the WHS AFJROTC had their Unit Evaluation, the cadets did an excellent job. The 30 step drill sequence completed, uniform inspection and a visit with the Regional Director, Mr. Buck.
Cadet/Colonel Kole Carter & Cadet/ Lt Colonel William White were presented with the Top Performer award. Also Cadet White was “Coined” for obtaining 100 hours of community service since April 2023.
At the end of the day they were recognized for their hard work by achieving a rating of “Exceeds Standards”! Great job by the Command Staff and all the cadets in the unit!

WHS Girls and Boys Bowling teams represented Westside well yesterday in the 4A-3A East Conference Tournament yesterday in Jonesboro. The girls were runners up for the conference and the boys placed 5th! 🎇🎉👏👏
Both teams advanced to the Professor Bowl at the State Tournament in Little Rock on February 8th!

Today in Vet Science we capped off our Circulatory and Respiratory Systems Lesson by exploring a couple of beef hearts and a couple of bison hearts. We then took some of the heart steaks and grilled them for students to try if they chose to.
