This 3 act comedy has delightful twists involving a widow who inherited millions of dollars from her husband and wants to use the money to help others realize their hopes and dreams. Her grownup stepchildren want the money for themselves and commit the widow to a "sanatorium" hoping to "bring her to her senses." Instead, the widow leads the self-serving stepchildren on a hilarious chase for the inheritance, while befriending the charming "guests" of the sanatorium.

As part of Red Ribbon Week at WHS, students had a presentation by Mrs. Carol Little (11-12 grade counselor) about bullying. We appreciate the attention that students gave her during this time.
Afterwards, we rewarded students growth and achievement on the ACT Aspire test from last Spring. Student incentives won today were: 15 Sonic lunches on Halloween, 4 “Warrior Feathers” that will grant the winner $25 on Amazon, 10 “Warrior Gear” winners, 1 Apple AirPods, 1 Nintendo Switch Lite, and 1 PlayStation 4. Due to the hard work of our students in last Spring’s tests, WHS had an increase on our State Report Card again this year.

Members of the Westside Interact Club attended the Jonesboro Rotary lunch today. Today is World Polio Day. Guest speaker Dr. Jennifer Dillaha spoke about how Rotarian efforts have helped to almost eradicate the Polio virus worldwide. We learned how, during Polio outbreaks, children were marked with a purple pinky finger to indicate that they had been vaccinated. Dr. Dillaha is the Director of the Arkansas Department of Health. It was very informative to hear her talk about viruses and vaccines. One of the missions of Rotary and Interact club is to spread hope to the world. What great hope we have in knowing that viruses can be researched and their harmful effects be stopped worldwide! If your student would like to join the Interact Club have them contact Mrs. Sample Wright.

Students also had a very honest discussion of “Post-COVID Anxiety.” The openness, honesty, and respect given to the students talking was amazing to see.
